UFB connections

Since 2016, North Drill has partnered with Northpower as the Civil Contractor for fibre connections, completing over 5000 installations to homes and businesses across the Whangarei and Kaipara District.

Client: Northpower Fibre

Scope of Work: House Connections to UFB Network

Key aspects of this project included:

  • Extending fibre from the pre-installed backbone in the council berm into private properties
  • Utilising trenchless (HDD) and turf or slot trenching techniques, adapted to property specific requirements
  • Locating existing utilities, often congested or uncharted areas within private properties
  • Conducting fibre jointing, and restoring gardens or landscapes
  • Completing surface reinstatements to meet council standards across residential, commercial, and CBD areas
  • Coordinating with home and business owners throughout the process
  • Managing stakeholders and maintaining consistent reporting and QA requirements.
  • Overseeing project and HSQE management, ensuring compliance with all safety and auditing standards
