Utility Installations

Specialists in Directional Drilling

Underground Services

With over 150 years of combined experience in utilities installation and the largest trenchless fleet in Te Tai Tokerau, we’ve installed thousands of kilometres of pipeline. Operating six Horizontal Directional Drills daily, we have the capability to install underground services efficiently, minimising disruption to existing infrastructure and the environment. Our expert team combines hands-on experience, local knowledge, and advanced technology to deliver tailored solutions for projects of any size or complexity.

Extensive underground knowledge

Our team has vast experience installing underground pipelines as well as a range of excavation projects.

Hydro Excavation

Equipped with 2 Hydrovac trucks and a trailered unit, we can safely expose existing underground services. Hydro excavation uses water and a vacuum to remove soil without damaging pipes or cables, making it perfect for utility installation in sensitive areas. This method is precise and non-destructive, helping to avoid hitting existing infrastructure while keeping the work area clean and safe.

Service Locating (GPR)

Locating and working around existing services is what we do every day. We use a range of service locators and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to accurately detect utilities and other underground structures before excavations begin. A GPR works by sending radar waves into the ground, allowing us to precisely identify what lies beneath the surface, ensuring safe and efficient excavation.

MDPE Butt Welding

Specialists in MDPE butt welding for pipes sized 90mm to 315mm in diameter. Butt welding involves heating and fusing two pipe ends to create a seamless, strong joint. To ensure high-quality results, our butt welding machine is housed in a custom-designed trailer, shielding the process from external elements like rain, wind and dust. This setup allows us to deliver precise, durable welds on every project, regardless of conditions.

Cable Hauling

We provide cable hauling services for underground utility installation. Cable hauling involves pulling the cables through newly installed underground conduits or trenches using specialised equipment to ensure safe and accurate placement.
